Mithali Raj, who is currently leading the Indian women’s cricket team, has retained her position in the ICC Women’s Rankings at seventh while Smriti Mandhana has retained her position at ninth. The rankings are based on a release issued by the ICC on Tuesday.

However, Australia’s Alyssa Healy and England’s Natalie Sciver are in first and second place respectively. Earlier this year, both the women batsmen have performed brilliantly in the Women’s World Cup held in New Zealand and that is the reason why they are ranked high in the ICC rankings. It’s not that the Indian team was tied down, but the team’s position in the World Cup tournament was third, just below Australia and South Africa.

From the bowling end, Sophie Ecclestone from England tops the chart while Shabnim Ismail is in second place. 39-year-old Jhulan Goswami remains at the fifth position on the chart.

In the all-rounder category too, Jhulan is ranked 10th while Deepti Sharma is ranked seventh in the ICC Women’s Rankings.

From July 28, 2022, the Commonwealth Games are going to be held in Birmingham, where Harmanpreet Kaur and Smriti Mandhana will be at the forefront of taking the leadership to the next level. However, the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games will conclude on 8th of August.

This really makes every Indian proud for its women topping the charts, though slowly, but effectively. There was a time when women’s cricket was not even known but today in the world of digital media, we all feel more transparent and accessible. In the ICC rankings, India’s team is at the fourth position with 2889 points. Well, we expect the Indian women’s team to rise to the first position even higher in the future. From today, i.e., 8th June onwards, the women’s international cricket is getting started and where 10 team in total are going to participate.

However, in the latest, the Irish team in their first match has beaten the South African team by 10 runs. Although the odds of victory for the Irish team were the exact opposite of the result, but we offer our best wishes to the Ireland team on their first win.
