In a major blow to the Tottenham team, their star footballer from South Korea, could miss possibly the match against Liverpool on Sunday.
The primary reason behind such setback is that the South Korean player while banged his head accidentally with the opposition team player, Chancel Mbemba, from Marseille. The collision proved out to be bad for Son as he was seen wobbly and dazed after that and had to escorted to the corner by the on-field physicians premier League’s Concussion regulations.
Son was also assessed in the immediate concussion assessment, which he failed and was substituted under premier league’s regulation.
The injury could be a worry for the Tottenham Hotspur team especially with the match against the Liverpool on Sunday. Whether his return would be possible or not, assistant head coach Cristian Stellini said,
“In this moment we don’t know. We have to wait for a medical assessment. Sonny feels better now. I saw him in the dressing room, he celebrated with us”
“We are not sure if he is concussed. It is Son’s face. His eye is a bit swollen.”
Even though, Son’s departure in the first half, didn’t hampered the winning momentum of the winning team and at the 16 minutes of the second half, goals from Clement Lenglet and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg overturned Chancel’s first-half opening.
It was not Son’s injury as setback to the english but on Tuesday, but Liverpool’s James Milner suffered a similar setback in his sides over Napoli.
The interesting thing is that both the head injuries took the same week and under which new temporary concussion substitutes had to be introduced.
As per the current regulations by PFA,
“jeopardizing player health and safety”, allow only permanent concussion substitutions whereby a team is granted an additional change if a player is forced off with a head injury”
Let wait and watch till tomorrow what new update comes!!
