Ever since the BCCI appointed Sourav Ganguly as the head and Jay Shah as the secretary, the BCCI revenue has skyrocketed. This height not only entertained the people of India and abroad but also enhanced the lives of those who have contributed to Indian cricket with their sweat and blood over the years. But before getting to the point of this discussion, let us understand what the BCCI chief recently revealed.
The BCCI chief Saurav Ganguly for the next coming IPL has something great in mind with a completely different extravaganza, he said.
To remind everybody, this year IPL has generated a huge – huge sum from the IPL media rights cycle 2023-2027. The sum that we are here are talking about is Rs. 48,390 crores. The entire bidding process was subjected to a different category of packages from A, B, C, and D. Package A was won by the existing media rights partner Star Sports Network by 23,575 crores, whereas the Package B and C were won by Viacom18 at the whopping price tag of Rs 23,758 crores having 18 matches each season.
Times Internet secured package D for Rs.1058 crores comprising both TV and Digital rights.

With the revenue generated Mr. Ganguly assured to work it out in the direction to develop the present infrastructure of the country for better fan experience. He said this while speaking to the sports news channel sport star, stating,
“We will work on it for sure and develop overall infrastructure for a better fan experience. A lot of new stadiums have come up, and the infrastructure of cricket in this country is huge. We will redo a few stadiums a bit and bring back IPL with a completely different extravaganza and fandom next year,”
As mentioned in the first para and in reference to what it said, BCCI also announced to increase the pension of all the 900 registered match officials including former player men & women by 100%. Mr. Shah said,
“I’m pleased to announce an increase in the monthly pension of former cricketers (men & women) and match officials. Around 900 personnel will avail of this benefit and close to 75% of personnel will be beneficiaries of a 100% raise”
Indeed, BCCI has got its own launchpad now and has become the second richest sports league in the world after NFL and above the English Premier League.
