It was the magical moment when Kohli scored his first century- 107 off 111 balls at Kolkata, sharing a partnership of 224 runs with his Delhi teammate Gautam Gambhir. 3. World Cup 2011 Finals

The 2011 World Cup was a game-changer. Kohli and Gambhar’s partnership brought color to the game. Despite Kohli scored 35 runs in the match, he was a major part of the game. Kohli and Gambhir were ready to reach the target set by Sri Lanka. The two wanted to partner again after the ODI match in Kolkata. There was a lot of pressure on Kohli. When Kohli came to the crease chasing 275, India was 31 for two. By the time Dilshan dismissed Kohli, India had reached 114 and was on the verge of a famous victory. 4. A century against Pakistan in World Cup

During the match, Kohli scored 81 off 51 balls and smashed nine boundaries and two sixes. Virat Kohli has featured in 81 T20s for the country and has scored 2,794 runs at an average of 50.8. 

Kohli had secured the second-highest run-scorer in this tournament and was awarded the “Player of The Tournament.” However, India could not reach the finals of the ICC World T20 back in 2016. Virat Kohli proved that he is a chase master, game planners he kept the required run-rate in check, took calculated risks, and remained cool under pressure.

7. Batting at a loss

In 2006, while Karnataka was playing Delhi in the Ranji Trophy, a piece of bad news hit Kohli. Virat Kohli’s father was not in this world then. That moment was very difficult. On the one hand, he needed 150 runs for the tournament, and Kohli was unbeaten on 40. He knew he would have to play a big role in saving the match, and on the other hand, Virat’s father was cremated.

10. The fastest 10,000 runs

2018 was the year when Kohli’s bat started showering runs. While playing a pivotal role in cricket, Virat Kohli broke Sachin Tendulkar’s record and became the fastest batsman to complete 10,000 runs in ODI cricket. In the second ODI of the series, Kohli scored a century against the West Indies in Vizag and completed 205 innings when he broke the record. It was a great achievement.
