Top 10 cricket legends: Cricket is a very old and world-famous sport. This game, which has been played all over the world since British rule, still fascinates everyone today. For outdoor sports like cricket, physical strength has to be fit. It requires a lot of practice. The emotion is in the mind when watching the game as a spectator. But it is the perseverance and hard work of the players in presenting that game that brings these players great fame and money. Today in this article we are talking about some of the veteran players who have reached the pinnacle by making their valuable contribution in the field of sports in the country.

1. Sir Donald Bradman (age-92 years)

Donald Bradman was an Australian batsman who has set a record of batting in test cricket with an average of 99.94. It is the biggest and greatest achievement in the history of cricket by a cricketer. His life was very interesting as he served in World War when he was just 32 years. At this young age, Bradman was a sporting celebrity. Donald Bradman has played 52 matches in his 20 years of career. The right-handed batsman started his cricket career in 1928 and ended in 1948. He died due to old age in 2001.

2. Sachin Tendulkar (Age-48 years)

Sachin Tendulkar, the Indian batsman is worshipped as God in India and the globe as well. The master blaster has dozens of records and a world record of scoring the highest runs in cricket. He showed his extraordinary performance on the crease and joined the cricket history that has created by a legend like Sir Donald Bradman. The legendary batsman Sachin was active in cricket from 1988 to 2013. 

3. Sir Garfield Sober (age-85 years)

Sir Garfield Sober was an all-rounder cricket player from West Indies. He had established his career as a fast ad spin bowler and the shrewd batsman. It was the year 1958 when Sober scored their maiden test century against Pakistan. He beat the team with 365 runs. It was the youngest cricket player to break the record who scored so high individually in Test cricket. AT that time, he was rewarded with the title of “National Hero”. The left-handed batsman has started playing cricket in 1954 and retired in 1974.

4. Imran Khan (age-55 years)

Imran Khan, a Pakistani cricketer, dominated the entire field at one time. He came on the field with such force that it rained runs from his bat. Once he gets on the field, his body language may indicate his purpose of scoring high. He was the captain of the Pakistan Cricket team who led the team towards the victory winning the World Cup in 1992. The right-handed batsman started representing his country in 1971 and announced his retirement in 1992. Currently, he is placed as the 22nd prime minister of Pakistan.

5. Sir Ian Botham (Age-65 years)

Ian Botham used to represent the England team. He was an all-rounder bowler and right-handed batsman. Sir Ian Botham became part of the England cricket team in 1976 and got retired in 1992. His last ODI was against Pakistan. Currently, he is a member of the House of Lords and works as a commentator. 

6. Shane Warne (age- 52 years)

Shane Warne is a legendary cricket player who represented Australian Cricket, team. The right-arm-leg spin bowler has debuted in the field of cricket in 1992. Shane Warne has seen very popularity and celebrity attention. He was considered one of the top five greatest cricket players in the 20th century. Shane Warne is the record holder of being the first cricket player who took 700 wickets. His life is full of many interesting facts. He retired from cricket in 2008. 

7. Sir Viv Richards (Age-69 years)

Sir Viv Richards is a former cricket player from West Indies. He represented the nation from 1974 to 1991. The all-time greatest batsman in cricket has won 27 matches out of 50 under his captaincy. He scored 6721 runs in ODI and more than 36,000 in his cricket career. His great contribution to cricket will always be remembered by all generations. He is known as Sir for his incomparable performance in cricket.

8. Brian Lara (Age-52 years)

Brian Lara is the all-time greatest batsman from West Indies. He debuted in test cricket in 1990. His first test debut match was against Pakistan. The left-handed batsman is called Prince as he made a record of scoring high in test and first and-class international matches. Brian Lara is popular for his versatile personality.

9. Jaques Kallis (Age-46 years)

Jaques Kallis is an all-rounder former cricket player from South Africa. He dominated the entire field with his playing skills. Kallis was a right-handed batsman and right-arm fast-medium bowler. Kallis entered cricket in the year of 1995. He played for IPL till 2014. In 2019, he was appointed as a coach for the South Africa national cricket team. He became a part of the England cricket team in late 2020. 

10. MS Dhoni (Age-40 years)

MS Dhoni is a popular name in the Indian cricket team. The Indian team has won numerous matches under his captaincy in T20 cricket format. Dhoni made his test debut in 2005 and T20I debut in 2006. A player from Jharkhand was a right-handed batsman, a wicketkeeper, and a right arm medium bowler. He played his last test cricket in 2014 against Australia. 

Each of these players is talented. Every player has made a name for himself in his time and his cricket career. There are cricketers who have left the world with their amazing performances. The world has witnessed the rain of his sixes and fours. It is not helpful to mention all those wealthy and great players here. So here are some of the veteran players who are most popular and most remembered for their hard work. Even though all these players have retired today, their contribution to the field of cricket will always be remembered.
