Yuvraj Singh, a well-known and talented Indian cricketer, has made predictions about the Indian cricket team by looking at the details of cricket and the ongoing IPL season.

It is the captain’s responsibility to bring the team together and play the game. But how he played the game depended on the players and their coaches. Currently, Virat Kohli’s poor form does not mean that he is not a good player or that his practice is not good. He is an experienced player. So far he has broken the record. Despite this, he is currently unable to perform well. He also resigned from the captaincy in all formats. Now the post has been handed over to Rohit Sharma and Rishabh Pant. Former Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh has expressed his views on this.

Virat Kohli stepped down from India’s Test captaincy this year and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) appointed Rohit Sharma as his successor along with the pacer. Jasprit Bumrah is playing the role of the vice-captain. But former India star Yuvraj Singh feels the national selectors should appoint Rishabh Pant as India’s next Test captain. He explained,

“You should groom someone. Like Mahi became the captain out of nowhere, but they made him, okay! Then it evolved”.

“The keeper is always a good thinker because he always has the best approach on the ground.”

“You pick a youngster who can be the captain of the future, give him time, and don’t expect miracles in the first six months or a year. I think you must believe in young people to get the job done.”

The 2011 World Cup winner also lauded Pant’s maturity, and called him “the right person to lead the Test team”.

“I was immature at that age, Virat was the captain at that age when he was immature. But he (Pant) is maturing with time.”

“I don’t know what the support staff thinks about it, but I think he is the right person to lead the Test team,”

he added.

Calling the wicketkeeper-batsman a “legend of the future”, Yuvraj also said,

“You already have four Test hundreds and you can do that. In terms of best wicket-keeper batsman, I think Rishabh could be the legend of the future”.

Since making his Test debut in 2018, Pant has played 30 Test matches, registering 1920 runs (including four tons and nine half-centuries) with the highest score of 159.

Rishabh Pant is a talented and responsible player as well as a good person. He has the ability to lead the team with a positive attitude and the best communication. If he thinks positively in his mind he can do anything. Expectations from Rishabh Pant are now been increased and all are hoping to see him in the role of best captain of the Indian cricket team in the near future just like MS Dhoni.
