All-rounder Hardik Pandya will be ruled out of the Ranji Trophy, which starts on February 10. According to the news, Ganguly wanted the players playing internationally to play domestic cricket as well but Pandya was not paying heed to Ganguly’s words and has decided not to play for domestic cricket for the time being. Hardik, who has declared himself fit for IPL 2022, will be ruled out of Ranji Trophy.

On Monday, Kedar Deodhar was made the captain of the Baroda team whereas Vishnu Solanki has been named as the deputy or vice captain of the Ranji Team. Ahead of the first leg of the tournament the cricket association (Baroda) has announced a 20 Men team. However, Hardik’s name is missing from the team’s list; However, Hardik’s brother Krunal Pandya has been included in the team.

The player Hardik has been making himself unavailable for national selection since the T20 World Cup due to multiple injuries. The cricketer has not played red-ball cricket since December 2018 and has often admitted that injuries have affected his chances in the longest format of the game and for not bowling during India’s disappointing T20 World Cup campaign has received a lot of criticism.

In an interview given to PTI,

“Ranji Trophy 2022- Hardik Pandya not part of Baroda’s Ranji squad:  “Hardik was injured and a break was given to him to completely recover, so that he can continue to serve Indian cricket for a long period of time. I believe I will see him play some Ranji Trophy to start with. I expect him to bowl a lot more overs and his body will get stronger“

The tournament was not held last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic and was postponed due to the third wave of infections across the country. This time the Ranji Trophy will be held hi two phases and would continue from Thursday till mid of March played across all the venues of the country.

Meanwhile, Hardik Pandya will lead the team Ahmedabad franchise CVC Capital, which will have Gary Kirsten and Ashish Nehra as coaches. Indian cricketer Hardik Pandya is all set to make his captaincy debut in the 2022 edition of the Indian Premier League Capitals, a newly formed team from Ahmedabad. Hardik Pandya has been bought by CVC Capital for 150 Million.
