The quality, type, size, and weight of resources that are used to play are the important aspects. If a batsman has to score high, a strong and best quality bat is a necessary requirement for him. If the bawlers want to throw a ball in such a way to get the wickets, then the fine quality ball is the top requirement for him.

The comfortability comes to the game when the ball bounces and swings on the pitch well and if the bat is enough strong for the batsman.

In this article, we will study the balls used to play cricket.

There are numerous types of balls used in cricket made from leather, cork, and string. The selection of the type of ball relies on the nature and format of the tournament.

In test cricket, the ball that is used for bawling is different. In one day, a different kind of ball is used. And in the T20 cricket format, a strong, rigid, and the comparatively low weighted ball is used.

As the T20 format is the shortest cricket format having fewer overs. Players have to score high in minimum overs. Each cricketer tries to hit the ball and gain the sixes and fours to achieve the target.

There are certain laws applicable to the game. The rules defined the ideal weight, size, and dimensions of the cricket resources.

According to the rules and experts, the weight of a White Ball used in a T20 Cricket is between 5.5 to 5.75 oz (156 to 163 g) when the ball is new. In most international matches, Kookaburra Turf White Ball is used. The size of the ball varies as per the level of the tournament. T20 Cricket Ball costs Rs. 12366. The balls used in the matches are checked by the umpires. Once they approved the quality ball, then the inning starts.

The specifications of the ball are differed according to the groups. For men’s cricket, the ball weight is between 155.9 and 163 grams and the circumference is between 22.4 and 22.9 centimeters. For women’s cricket, the ball weighs between 140 and 151 grams having a circumference of between 21 and 22.5 centimeters.

And the people under 13 years old who are considered under junior cricket, the balls weigh between 133 and 144 grams with a circumference between 20.5 and 22 centimeters.

These all specifications are decided by the official dignitaries and as per the cricket laws. The law also has suggested the guidelines for how to handle the ball while playing.

If the ball gets damaged or gets lost out of the ground on strong shots by the batsman, the umpire can ask for a new ball in replacement. It is suggested to start the inning with a new ball.
