If we listen to the rumors outside and also the reports published on the popular sport news website, Cribuzz, it explains that the player playing in the Asia Cup, will also be part of the T20 World Cup team, starting from October 16th this year.
Now it seems that the BCCI selectors have a deadline to make their choices for the Asian Cup by 8th of August. Interesting thing is, all eyes are on the star batter, Virat Kohli and whether he’ll find his place in the team or not, is a matter of time.
Currently, the former skipper has been given rest from the ongoing West Indies team as well as the upcoming Zimbabwe tour, but hopefully, he’ll be part of the Asia Cup and the T20 World cup too.
Many questioned why a senior player like Kohli has been given so much rest or so but practically what decision has been made for him seems partly right, and partly not. The reason why we say so is primarily due to because, Virat is going through a mental block from where he’s not able to recover, but series like the Zimbabwe one could have helped him to score, as the team Zimbabwe stands at a bit lighter side when it comes to competition, and also would have been a practice sort of series for Virat Kohli with understandably less pressure and where Virat could have done his homework.
Well, speaking of homework, it is not only Virat but also other senior players like KL Rahul and Jasprit Bumrah who definitely will be part of the Asia cup but KL Rahul’s Covid Condition makes it a bit difficult for the selectors to decide what to do. Speaking of injuries, there is one good news, Deepak Chahar after his failed IPL 2022 journey due to Injury, will be making a comeback for the Zimbabwe tour.
The Asia Cup was about to be held in Sri Lanka firstly but due to political as well as financial turmoil including people unrest has caused the ACC (Asian Cricket Council) to come to a joint conclusion with the SLC (Sri Lanka Cricket Board) to conduct the entire Asia Cup in the beautiful nation of UAE.
In total Six teams will be seen participating with the likes of India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, Pakistan but the sixth team will choose its luck and opportunity by playing a qualifier match. The teams for it will be UAE, Singapore, Hong Kong, & Kuwait.
