Rishabh after his more than a century knock against the England team on Sunday, has earned huge praise from the batting legend, Sunil Gavaskar. He feels that the batter must have learnt from his mistakes made in the past and played very responsibly. We are here talking about the third and the final ODI match that took place between the two teams on Sunday and where he was declared the player of that match. Rishah scored 125* runs 113 deliveries. To support him achieving such a feat, from the other end was the Gujarat Titans team captain, Hardik Pandya, who equally played well making 71 off 55 deliveries and helping the team move towards winning the series.

Hardik Pandya was declared the player of the series.

Gavaskar extremely impressed by the innings made by Rishabh Pant while speaking to the Sportstak sports news channel said,

“Rishabh Pant seems to have learned from his mistakes against South Africa. He chased balls outside off stump to slog them over the leg side then, but the way he batted with responsibility yesterday shows how well he paced his innings,”

Mr. Gavaskar further on added by saying,

“The way he smashed a flurry of boundaries towards the end showed that he is someone who can absorb pressure and then attack,”

While also talking about his test debut early on Mr. Gavaskar also stressed upon to have patience and also added that we all have to wait and watch because probably he has found the right template to play cricket and so on. Mr. Gavaskar also used the analogy of shifting gears in cars with the T20 format stating that,

“In T20s you have to start playing from third gear and move into fifth gear, so it is very different from ODIs. We need to be patient with Pant and realize that he will win us games when he is set, while sometimes there will be failures.”

Even the opponent team captain, Jos Butler said,

“Rishabh is a very very fearless cricketer. It is his mentality that sets him apart”

So overall it was all praise for the 24-year-old batsman who played really well and helped his team to victory. The overall tour in England proved out be a one sided victory as in the fifth test that England and India played at the Edgbaston stadium proved out to be fatal for the indian side whereas learning from the mistakes, team bounced back and not only won the 3 match T20I series against England (2-1) but also grabbed the 3 match ODI series series also under their name with  2-1.
