All-rounder Ravindra Jadeja has done wonders with the ball in the Asia Cup. He has become the highest wicket-taker for India in the history of the Asia Cup tournament. He has left Irfan Pathan behind.

On Wednesday, the all-rounder player of team India Ravindra Jadeja became the highest wicket-taker for India in the history of the Asia Cup tournament. The all-rounder achieved the feat during his team’s Group A match against Hong Kong in Dubai in the 2022 edition of the Asia Cup. Jadeja bowled brilliantly in the match. He took the wicket of dangerous-looking batsman Babar Hayat. Jadeja managed to take 1 wicket for 15 runs in his four overs.

Jadeja has taken part in Asia Cup tournaments six times held so far from 2010 to 2022. He has so far taken 23 wickets in his name. He has overtaken former Indian all-rounder Irfan Pathan to take 22 wickets in this tournament. He received four wickets in his first Asia Cup in 2010, followed by one wicket in 2012, and seven wickets in 2014, while he picked up three wickets in 2016. After this, he got succeeded in receiving seven wickets in the 2018 Asia Cup. At the same time, this is his first wicket in the current Asia Cup.

In 2018, he got the title of most successful Asia Cup with the ball. In four matches of that season, he took seven wickets at an average of 22.28 and an economy rate of 4.45. 4/29 was his best bowling figure in the tournament. He got fifth place in the bowling charts and was India’s third-highest wicket-taker in the tournament behind JaspritBumrah (8) and Kuldeep Yadav (10). However, the most successful bowlers in the history of the  Asia Cup are Sri Lanka’s Muttiah Muralitharan (30), Lasith Malinga (29), Ajantha Mendis (26) and Pakistan’s Saeed Ajmal (25).
