India Squad for T20 World Cup 2022 is on verge of its opening probably from October 16th till the 13th of November, however, the rest schedule such as the playing squad, venue and so on is yet to be declared, but when it comes to team Indian deciding there playing 15, its not going to take much time.

Team India coach Rahul Dravid recently while interacting to his players made it crystal clear that in order for them to get a seat in the top 15 of the Indian cricket squad of the world cup, they are not required to just knock on the door but need to be banging enough. Dravid, indirectly by this was speaking about big contributions that needs to be made in order to be selected. He said,

“It is not about knocking on the door; they have to start banging the door down. We are going to start looking to finalise that squad as quickly as possible. Whether that will happen in the next series or the series after that is hard to tell, but we are certainly looking to do that as quickly as possible.”

He also took examples of players like Virat Kohli, Jasprit Bumrah and Rohit Sharma of not getting included in the playing XI against SA just because their efforts and contributions to the team wasn’t great enough to be selected in series against the proteas which recently got concluded as draw due to rain in the final match. The Ind vs. SA series got draw by 2-2.

If the Hardik Pandya and Dinesh Karthik’s efforts would have been there, it was possible for the SA team to take the title from the home turf. Rahul said,

“He (Karthik) is picked for a very specific skill and he was picked for that based on what he has been doing particularly well over the last two or three years. It almost came together perfectly for us in that game at Rajkot when we needed that big performance in the last five overs to be able to make a par score.”

Rahul by adding further said,

“He and Hardik (Pandya) batted beautifully for us and both of them are our enforcers at the end and guys that can capitalize on the last five or six overs as well as anyone in the world. It was really nice to see Karthik come off and do what he has been picked to do and it certainly opens up a lot more options for us going forward. Innings like that means he is certainly knocking very hard,”

Rahul Dravid who is known for his calm and composed nature seems nowhere compromising with his playing XI for the upcoming T20 World Cup 2022 in October and wants the best inside his team who can not like the player but like warriors and get the world cup back home.
