R Ashwin, responding to PCB chief’s statement about India has started giving respect to the Pakistan team. But before you misunderstand the entire news, let us tell you that Ramiz Raja recently made some bold statements saying that Team India, a billion-dollar team, always considered Pakistan as an underdog. Ramiz Raja also highlights all the games between India vs India. Pakistan is a game with more mental pressure than physical.

Talking to the newsgroup, “The Dawn” PCB chief Ramiz Raja said that earlier Pakistan team was considered an underdog in World Cup matches, but he then added, now things have changed. Team India has started taking Pakistan more seriously and began to respect. The Babar-led team is ahead of the “billion-dollar team”.

The leg cutter and R Ashwin, known for his cricket knowledge and experience responded to the comments made by Ramiz in his own way. Have a look,

“Until you said that, I didn’t know he made a statement like that. That’s one way of dealing with it,”

He further added,

“But look, it’s a game of cricket. Whatever political tensions and whatever stays between the teams, the rivalry is big, it means a lot to the people from both countries. But at the end of the day, whatever you may say as a cricketer and as someone who is playing the sport, you do understand that wins and losses are part of the game, especially in this format, the margins are going to be so close,”

“To respect an opposition is not something that comes with victories and defeats. It comes in the way you are made. We definitely respect that Pakistani side and so do they.”

Wins and losses are part of the game especially in this format is what Ashwin says, but how many times by both the teams, let only time decide. Now, we can’t say whether the news was really a shocker to a player like Ashwin, or he just pretended to know what has been thrown at him, probably a googly before the T20 World Cup for distraction.

Just Six more days are remaining for the Mega event of T20 World Cup, in Australia is set to begin, and speaking of India and Pakistan, both teams will be clashing against each other on 23rd October, for the first time which we believe all eyes from around the world will be glued upon.
