Dinesh Karthik feels that playing under different atmospheric and pitch conditions recently has helped the Indian players indirectly to be prepared for the mega T20 World cup. India recently played against West Indies, especially the 3-match T20 in two different stadiums so far, which according to Dinesh Karthik has given the Indian players the leverage, how? Because the first match against WI was in Tarouba, and the second in St. Kitts which is known for their heavy winds.

“So, obviously, we are going to be encountering different grounds wherever we are going to be playing, so the challenges are going to be different,”

He further added,

“Here, the challenges have been different in every venue where we have played. So, the fact that every time you get an opportunity, there’s a certain challenge that comes with just walking in. That is pressure by itself”

“There are a lot of factors that can make it tougher for you, especially in the Caribbean and Miami, wind will be a massive factor, even though it is a sport which is played with a heavy ball, the wind dictates some of the times, where you play the shots. “It works both ways, the bowlers are clever and they try to force you to hit into the wind as much as possible”

He also praised the captain and coach of the Indian team for speaking on the subject of adaptability, understanding the situations and also giving the players ample opportunities not to only succeed but to fail. He said,

“Players are given the opportunity to fail. It’s very important to give players the opportunity to fail and then move on to the next player. In India right now, there are so many players.”

He then emphasized that by adapting the above-mentioned mentality, over a certain period of time adds value. But when asked the cricketer about he feels every time he goes to play and carries the tag of a finisher, he said,

“Finisher’s role is one such that it is hard to be consistent. Every time you get in, you should be able to make an impact that will help the team”

Team India after leading by 2-1 against West Indies, in the 5-match T20I, will be facing the Caribbeans once again today i.e., 8th August 2022, starting at 8pm local time. If India manages to win this match, they will officially be declared the winners, but only when it happens.
