  • Odean said during the interview that it was in the team’s belief system that they were going to win.

As the days are passing, the IPL fever is only increasing. The match between CSK and Kolkata Knight Riders started to boil where the target set by the team winning the toss was 131, then in the second match, Mumbai Indians vs. Delhi Capitals, the team winning the toss, set a target of 177 for the opponent team. Third match, where RCB set the target as 205.

So, can you see the pattern here? The pattern clearly indicates a rise in temperature with every new game taking place in the IPL. Most surprisingly, we can see that all the big names are losing in their first game. In the first match, CSK lost against KKR, in the second match, it was MI’s turn to lose against Delhi Capitals, however, in another interesting one, Royal Challengers were smashed by Punjab Kings player Odean Smith, who ended the game in just 19 overs given. Looks really interesting!!

As mentioned above, in the last seen match between Punjab Kings and Royal Challenge Bangalore, Odean Smith became the player of the match by RCB chasing a mammoth total of 205, making 208 out of 19 overs, having 5 wickets in hand, which quite an achievement. This match was played at DY Patil Stadium in Mumbai. The Jamaican cricketer was seen smashing 25 out of 8 balls supported by Bhanupaksa scoring 43 out of 22 balls.

Speaking at the presentation ceremony, Odeon said,

“We were stressing on having a good start. We just needed to have that belief. Didn’t go so well with the bowling. I need to work on a few things. Batting was good as I helped my team to win,”

He further added,

“It was all about execution and I couldn’t and that’s why it went haywire. Punjab hasn’t won the title so far but we need to have the belief. We watched ’14 peaks’, 13 remain for us,”

It was a really good start from RCB. RCB with the help of their newly elected captain batsman Faf du Plessis and Virat Kohli scored 88 runs and 41 runs in 57 and 29 balls respectively, and ultimately putting up a scintillating performance of 205.

Whereas, Punjab Kings, on the other hand, had a different mood and while chasing the total, ended the match by scoring 208 runs in just 19 overs.Odeon of PBKS was declared the player of the match.

Punjab Kings, will take on the KKR team in their next match on April 1st at the Wankhede stadiumand will be very interesting to see the two team who have won each two points so far.
