Mithali Raj, the former cricketer of the women’s cricket team has shown her interest towards participating in the Women’s IPL. To remind you, Mithali Raj, after roughly playing for the past 23 years in international cricket has retired this year (2022) from all forms of cricket.
But recently while speaking with 100 percent cricket podcast, she said it would be lovely to be the part of the Women’s IPL and she also added by saying,
“I’m keeping that option open; I have not yet decided. There are a few more months to go before the women’s IPL happens,”
Speaking of the opportunity with the 100% cricket podcast, she said,
“I am delighted to be a part of the 100% Cricket Podcast project. It is a commendable initiative from the ICC to raise the profile of women’s cricket.
“The overarching 100% Cricket Year of Women’s Cricket campaign has increased not only the visibility, but the talkability of women’s cricket. Ambitious ideas need boldness and fortitude and I’m honored to be a part of such an important project,”
Looking at Mithali’s cricketing career so far,
- She has given 23 years of her to the Indian cricket team
- She finished her ODI career while she was at 7805 runs
- In the T20I cricket, she scored 2364 runs out of 89 matches (T20I)
- She is also part of the Women’s test team making 699 runs out of 12 tests which includes a century and four half centuries.
Although, Mithali as captained the Indian team and has won so many matches and tournaments for her country but she hasn’t ever been able to win any world cup for the nation, but despite of that we all love her for her dedication and the years that she gave for the team and the country which quite commendable.
