Jaspreet Bumrah has been ruled out of the match against South Africa at Centurion due to an ankle injury. BCCI has announced on social media Twitter that Shreyas Iyer has been selected as the fielder instead of Bumrah now. The cricketer was bowling on the third day of the first Test series against South Africa. Bumrah was in pain when his right ankle got twisted.
BCCI mentioned the following words in the statement as-
“Jasprit Bumrah has suffered a right ankle sprain while bowling in the first innings. The medical team is monitoring him at the moment. Shreyas Iyer is on the field as his substitute.”
Bumrah delivered the fifth ball in the 11ht over of the first inning when this accident happened. He has to leave the crease immediately when it happened. The physiotherapist treated him and took him to the restroom.
On the first day of the match, KL Rahul had shown a great performance. Day 2 was got off due to rain and a wet field.
