“It gives me a little bit more time” – Manchester United star comments after teammate Antony is accused of wasteful showboating

The Brazilian international playing for Manchester United, Diogo Dalot, is having a terrific campaign this season, and has opened up about the accusations the Ajax Star, Antony is accused of i.e., showboating.  The Red Devils star is accused of showboating during the match against Sheriff Tiraspol.

In the match between the two teams, Antony at the 42-minute mark, doing a double pirouette and then overhitting his pass out of play, which eventually resulted in huge criticism from football pundits all around the world.

Amidst criticism, the player was eventually replaced by Erik ten Hag, the dutchman which Dalot also explained is not due to any internal conflict but tactical advancement.

Dalot was seen expressing himself in full against while getting interviewed by “The Mirror” saying,

“He (Antony) wants to entertain a little bit, it’s part of the way he plays. For me, it gives me a little bit more time when he has the ball for me to try to open space with runs”

He further added by saying,

“We are happy to have Antony with us, he’s a fantastic player and I’m sure that his technique and dribbling will help us.”

It was interesting to see a senior player like Dalot backing his young team teammate calling him a technically gifted player in their ranks and also insisting out there in the open that the Ajax star should not be criticized much for the incident. He said,

“I think it’s normal after he missed the pass, but I don’t think we should focus too much on what he did. That’s just part of his game and we’re lucky to have a player like him.”

For all your information, Diogo Dalot is the most wanted player in the whole of Europe and is in his final year with the Red Devils. But speculations and rumors suggest him to be associated with the team for one more year as an extension of his contract.
