IPL’s most expensive cricketer Ishan Kishan, sold for 15.25 crores, has something to say this time.

Ishan Kishan says that he is scared of bowlers like Jofra Archer. He says that he always struggles against a certain category of bowlers, especially those whose bowling action style is deceiving.

Speaking in an interview with Time of India, he said that he really struggles to face bowlers like Jofra Archer, whose run-up and pace don’t match at all, and that makes him a lot difficult to understand.

When Ishaan was asked what kind of bowlers trouble him the most, Ishaan replied,

“The Jofra Archer kind. He gets a little extra bounce. His pace and run-up don’t match up. He comes in slow jogging. Playing shots off him is difficult. In One-day cricket, you get the time and can rotate the strike and target the other bowler. But in T20s, it is a very fast game.”

The southpaw has played an amazing amount of cricket so far and was picked at a starting base price of 2 crores but was not a newbie at the time that the player would bounce back enough to become the most expensive player of the series.

The player earned Rs 15.25 crore, making him more valuable this season. Adding more to the topic of the most feared bowler, Ishan continues,

“In international cricket, you won’t be served balls on a platter to hit sixes. You must make your own space, move around the crease. Doing that to Archer is a bit difficult

Recently, in an interesting mega auction event, all the teams were battling with each other to get Ishaan Kishan in their team but one incident to be precise where the SRH team left with less purse value was in a do or die condition.

Bowling coach Muttiah Muralitharan explained that Ishan Kishan was his first choice as a batsman and wicketkeeper to strengthen his middle-order, but when the price went up, he had to drop the player and settle for Nicholas Pooran, who is also a wicket-keeper. Another choice of SRH was an international player which also included the like of Jonny Bairstow, but they left him being doubtful about his availability.

The first IPL match is to be played on April 2 this year and is supposed to be taking place in a part of Mumbai, Pune, and Ahmedabad. According to the BCCI, there are six possible places on the list which are from Pune, Mumbai, and Ahmedabad. In all, the 70-match league is being played mostly in Maharashtra to avoid complications due to COVID-19 and restrict players and other crew members to flying from one state to another, which is actually a very wise decision by the BCCI management so far in which Reliance Jio Stadium as the possible venues to conduct IPL matches. The stadium is equipped with all modern facilities and is currently home to the Mumbai Indians team.

As per reports, the final playoff matches will be held at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
