IPL2022: Faf du Plessis, Josh Hazlewood shine in RCB’s emphatic win over LSG at IPL 2022

Cricket fans all over the world have come to enjoy such exciting and thrilling cricket in the recent IPL 2022 match between Lucknow Super Giants and Royal Challengers Bangalore (LSG vs RCB) at DY Patil Sports Academy, Mumbai, in which RCB won by 18 runs. It was the 31st match of the season and RCB’s fifth with which they have moved up to the second position in the points table, while Lucknow has suffered a third defeat. This team is now in the fourth position. Captain Faf du Plessis and fast bowler Josh Hazlewood were the heroes of RCB’s victory as the duo performed outstanding and presented a tremendously fantabulous game.

Faf du Plessis’s captaincy innings, RCB made a huge score

The team of RCB elected to bat after losing the toss and scored 181 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in the allotted overs. Bangalore had got two setbacks in the form of Anuj Rawat (4) and Virat Kohli (0) on the fifth and sixth balls of the match. Kohli got out on a ‘golden duck’. After this Glenn Maxwell came on the field and he played flamboyant innings and played an innings of 23 runs in 11 balls with the help of 1 four and 3 sixes. But the team lost its 4 wickets till the score of 62.

Faf du Plessis hit 96 runs

From here, Du Plessis, playing the captaincy innings, along with Shahbaz Ahmed took 70 runs for the fifth wicket and took the team out of trouble. Shahbaz scored 26 runs in 22 balls, while Du Plessis was just 4 runs away from his century. He played an innings of 96 runs in 64 balls with the help of 2 sixes and 11 fours. Jason Holder and Dushmantha Chamira took 2-2 wickets for the opposition team, while Krunal Pandya took 1 wicket.

Lucknow started Poor, only 163 runs scored

In reply, Lucknow could score only 163 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in the allotted overs. Lucknow had got two big setbacks in the form of Quinton de Kock (3) and Manish Pandey (6) till the score of 33. From here, captain KL Rahul played an innings of 30 runs.

Josh Hazlewood took 4 wickets

Apart from KL Rahul, Krunal Pandya scored 42 runs in 28 balls with the help of 2 sixes and 5 fours, while Marcus Stoinis scored 24 runs in 15 balls, but could not win the team. Josh Hazlewood took the maximum of 4 victims from the opposition team, while Harshal Patel got 2 successes.

It was a very engaging and interesting match where Faf du Plessis and Josh Hazlewood were the shining stars. And hence the match became so engaging. We will hope that the upcoming matches will entertain the viewers likewise and will enjoy the rest of the performances in the future too.
