The T20 format has changed every mindset, be it the players or the fans all around. The game of cricket has evolved so much in recent years that squads or teams playing in this format are perceived to be extremely cautious about dot balls and self-preservation. Well, what do we mean by this?

By self-Preservation and being self-cautious we mean, that in the T20 format, the players are becoming more habitual to playing cautiously in the first few overs (Powerplays) and then going all out not getting too much worried about being out or vice versa. Nowadays, cricket has become bolder than before, where teams are more focused, undertakings high risks and rewards. This is the same style that Caribbean people have used since 2010.

Earlier, it was not the case before, where the batsmen are doing their job and the bowlers are doing there’s, which was actually the traditional way of looking at a game. However, if you look at today’s game format, it is completely different from what we just mentioned above. You will see that the player who is coming to bat in the last few overs is also hitting classic shots across the ground and leading his team to victory.

For example, we have Shivam Dubey who plays as an all-rounder. The surprising thing is that if you look at the performance of this player, you will find him with a strike rate of 190. During the recent match played between CSK and Punjab Kings, Shivam Dubey scored 57 runs in 37 balls and that actually makes him a hero despite losing the match.

Whereas on the other end, there is a top batsman like Ruturaj Gaikwad, who has not been able to showcase their magic in the game so far being a batsman and ending in only single digits.

Take, another player for his scenario, Washington Sundar, who played a fantastic inning for his team, Sunrisers Hyderabad, made a smashing 61 runs while batting on 8.

So, we think these names are enough to convince people that it is important to have a batsman cum bowler in one now, as the T20 format is very different, and with its development, the selectors and coaches have turned their headsItching to understand the real meaning of this game.

The format, though it looks simply 20 over the match the needs of power hitters come at the last few over i.e., 14th to 15th over, where a team needs runs, and of course, a pure bowler will not be able to do that, and therefore, the need of beast allrounders like Chris Gayle, Ravindra Jadeja, and a few others comes into the picture.
