India secured a historic first clean sweep win over the team in ODIs, registering an emphatic 96-run victory over West Indies. Electing to bat after winning the toss, the Indian team scored 265 runs.
The visitor team had a disappointing start from the very beginning. It was even worse in the third match, with West Indies losing three back to back wickets that were just within 5 over’s. Deepak Chahar was seen in action for the Indian team, taking two wickets for Shamar Brooks (0) and Brandon King (14). Mohammad Siraj was initially seen taking a wicket while dismissing Shai Hope, who is the wicket-keeper of the West Indies team.
In the third match, the bowlers were seen dominating till the last. Another bowler Krishna was seen sending Darren Bravo back to the pavilion and then Jason Holder was also shown the way to the pavilion and then Darren Bravo was removed. Kuldeep Yadav dismissed Nicholas Pooran (34) and Fabian Allen (0).
Hayden Walsh (13) and Alzarri Joseph (29) were seen as a hope for the Caribbean side, which was soon on the verge of losing ground to the Indian bowlers. The ODI series has now come to an end but a new chapter is now beginning through the three-match T20I series between the two teams on February 16 to be held in Kolkata.
Due to health reasons KL Rahul and Axar Patel have been made seated for the upcoming T20I series between West Indies in Kolkata. KL Rahul has been rested due to a strain in his left hamstring, which occurred while fielding, while Axar has resumed his rehabilitation which is the last stage after recovering from Covid-19 recently.
In replacement of the two, Ruturaj Gaikwad and Deepak Hooda have been given a chance to play against the Caribbean’s in the T20 going to start from Feb 16.
In the third ODI against the Caribbean, India beat the West Indies team by 96 runs. The defeat is completely disappointing to the Caribbean team and is one of the first such win for the Indian team so far.
