When it comes to batting there are two batsmen who recently found their true potential in batting and their names are Ravindra Jadeja and Axar Patel. Now, why are picking this point, because the former head coach of the Indian national team Ravi Shastri said so. But before knowing what exactly his words were, let’s have a look at the two all-rounders as mentioned above.
The Indian team’s senior allrounder, Ravindra Jadeja, was out for the 3-match ODI series against West Indies, you know why? Because, Jadeja faced a knee injury during the time and wasn’t fit to play in the series. But now once he has recovered, he was seen in the T20I series scoring a little but powerful 16 runs off 14 balls, which as per technicalities, is good sign for a cricketer who has just recovered.
Well speaking of Axar Patel, this player was the match winner for India in the third ODI match against West Indies scoring 64 runs being not out of 35 deliveries, and making India win by 2 wickets, isn’t it good.
So looking at all these real-time scenarios, the former head coach Ravi Shastri stated,
“Jadeja has improved vastly. He has realized his potential. I think, on this tour, even Axar Patel has realized that he wasn’t doing justice to his potential as a batsman. Both of these players have a lot of talent when it comes to the batting department. They will add a lot of balance to the Indian team if they continue in this fashion,”
And why not? As we all know the T20 World cup is just a few months apart and every player wants to participate and makes runs for their team and indirectly saying,
‘Here we are”. So are the efforts from the two all-rounders.
Not only them, in the previous T20I match against the Caribbeans, the struggling Rohit Sharma scored 64 runs whereas, talking of some exceptional innings, it was Dinesh Karthik who smashed 41 runs off 19 deliveries making him the player of the match.
The next match against the West Indies that India will be playing against will be on 1st August which indeed will be an exciting one, Stay tuned!!
