After beating England 2-1 in the T20 and ODI series, now India’s next challenge is from the Caribbean team. The ODI series between India and West Indies is scheduled to begin with a 3-match series starting July 22 and will end on July 27.

However, the Rohit Sharma-led T20 series will run from July 29 to August 7 next month. For your information, let us tell you that in February, in their last match with the West Indies team, India defeated them by winning both the ODI and T20 series by 3-0. But this time the Indian team will have to be careful, as the Caribbean players will try to take revenge for settling the score this time.

India has revealed its team XI for both the ODI and T20I series, while West Indies have only revealed their ODI team XI, keeping the T20I squad list anonymous. So, let us move on to understand the fixtures of all the games that happened with the XI of both the teams.

  • Match – West Indies vs. India 1st ODI, India tour to West Indies
  • Venue – Queen’ Park Oval
  • Date & Time – July 22nd, 2022, 7 PM Indian Standard time, Local time – 9:30 AM

Pitch Report – The pitch of the Queen’s Park Oval looks fine for both bowlers and batters. However, it is only the spinners who are expected to enjoy the show, but when it comes to batting, playing carefully could lead any batting team to score more than 250 runs or so.

Weather Report – It looks highly unlikely for the cloud to shower tomorrow as the weather report suggests the precipitation limits not more than 20 percent, but yes, the rise in humidity (71 percent) might irritate some of the cricketers. Wind speeds are going to be moderate upto 19 kmph.

West Indies vs. India 1st ODI Playing Xi Squad

West Indies ODI XI Squad – Nicholas Pooran (C), Rovman Powell, Shamarh Brooks, Kyle Mayers,  Brandon King,  Keacy Carty,  Jason Holder, Keemo Paul, Kyle Mayers, Alzarri Joseph, Shai Hope, Akeal Hosein, Jayden Seales

India ODI XI Squad – Ruturaj Gaikwad, Deepak Hooda, Shikhar Dhawan (Captain), Ishan Kishan (wk), Shubman Gill, Suryakumar Yadav, Sanju Samson (wk), Shreyas Iyer, Ravindra Jadeja (vice-captain),Shardul Thakur, Axar Patel, Yuzvendra Chahal, Prasidh Krishna, Arshdeep Singh, Avesh Khan, Mohd. Siraj

Match Prediction – After winning the T20I as well as the ODI series against England recently, the Indian team looks all beefed up but the meaning of the new series means, the counters start from Zero again. In the West Indies team, players like Shai Hope, Rovman Powell, Brandon King, Alzarri Joseph are some players, who can create some serious problems for the Indian team if not played against carefully. If you look at the west Indies playing XI squad, there are very few options and is limited to exactly 11 players but when it comes to the Indian squad you’ll find plenty of options available.

Final Prediction – India  has high chance to win this match
