The skipper Rohit Sharma comes out praising Suryakumar Yadav for his century in the third T20I match against England. The Indian skipper calls it a fantastic chase from Yadav even though they lost the match by 17 runs recently.

The memorable outing by Suryakumar Yadav came in a time when no veteran was able to stand the bowling attack of the English including the likes of consistent Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and even the star wicket keeper Rishabh Pant.

The England team setting the target first gave the Indian side a massive score of 215 but in order to chase it was only Yadav who dared to leap beyond expectation. Suryakumar Yadav, after his stunning innings of 117 runs from 55 deliveries, caught attention of many, but most importantly the skipper Rohit Sharma who said at the post match presentation,

“I thought it was a fantastic chase although we fell short. We are proud of the fight. Surya was magnificent to watch. I have been watching him for a while now. Loves this format, has a wide range of shots. He has grown from strength to strength since we got him into the squad”

However, the Rohit led side looked to white wash the English team and take revenge of their defeat in the fifth test very recently, but the Jos Butler led side made it difficult for the men in blue to achieve so.

Rohit further said,

“They put us under pressure with their batting. A decent partnership put us on the back foot. You back yourself to get this score. We were clear in trying out guys if they can bowl 4 overs. We have things to work on as a group. Hope so. So far things are pretty good. We don’t want to sit on laurels,”

Thus, from the above all the good news remains that the Indian team named the series under their names by taking 2-1 lead and winning the series eventually. Secondly, Suryakumar Yadav after scoring his beautiful century innings became the fifth indian player to achieve such a feat for himself.

After winning the 3-match T20I series against England, team Indian is all set for their new assignment in the form of an 3-match ODI series from July 12th which will be an interesting one.

The first ODI will be played at the Ovals, London, the second and the third ODI at lords and old Trafford, on 14 and 17, respectively.
