After winning the Ind Vs WI fifth T20I series by 4-1, the now, permanent Vice-captain of the Indian team, Hardik Pandya, when asked how does he feel after winning the series, he said,

“Very special to get a chance to lead your country. And getting that chance and getting that victory means a lot to me as captain and an individual. I was just following our captain’s roles,”

But there was time when Hardik Pandya was just a prospect name after Rishabh Pant who was the captain at that time, but Pandya’s victory streak in row starting from the IPL, to the two match Ireland series win of 2-1 made him the very contender for the vice captain role which recently converted into a permanent one.

So how did Hardik lead the west indies series when Rohit was leading already?

Rohit during his previous match against the Caribbeans suffered a hamstring and during the same was retired hurt. Following the protocols, Hardik had to lead the team now, which he did efficiently.

For the Ind vs WI series or any other series, that Team India is playing, Hardik Pandya credited all it to the freedom that the management has given it to its players to go and express themselves in the best possible way is the primary reason they could the way we see and while saying he also called the team as New India. Look at what he said,

“This is the new India how they are playing. They are expressing themselves well, and when you have the freedom you get more dangerous.

“Credit to management and the whole group to make that environment. They are not worried about whether they won’t get picked or whether they will get dropped.”

The Ind vs WI fifth T20I match was played at the Central Broward Regional Park Stadium, and was won by the India squad by 4-1. The credit to this win equally should be given to the star batters as well as the star bowlers of the team who left no stone unturned to make sure they win this match. Their names are Shreyas Iyer (64 off 40), Deepak Hooda ( 38 off 25) and Hardik Pandya who played a small but very effective 28 runs from just 16 deliveries.

From the bowling point of view, it was Axar Patel who grabbed 3 wickets by giving just 15 runs and parallelly being very economical and secondly it was Ravi Bishnoi who grabbed 4 wickets with economy rate of 6.00.

So the both batters as well as bowlers made their stance clear in the match and now are ready to clash against the Zimbabwe team starting from 27th August.
