- Kapil Dev has some crucial suggestion or message for Arjun Tendulkar who did not get chance this IPL to prove his mettle.
The 1983’s world cup winning captain and the legendary Kapil Dev has some crucial thing to suggest to Arjun Tendulkar who hasn’t got any chance this IPL to prove his himself despite MIs failing effort.
Arjun Tendulkar, who is the son of the former world class and legendary player Sachin Tendulkar has this year made his spot clear in the Mumbai Indians team for 30 lakhs. But despite being the son of the great Sachin Tendulkar and being selected inside the Mumbai Indians team, and lots of buzz surrounding him, the former legendary cricketer has come forward in rescue for Arjun saying that he should enjoy the cricket despite carrying the burden of his surname and so on. He further said,
“Why are you talking about him? You are talking about him because he is Sachin Tendulkar’s son. Let him play his own cricket and do not compare him with Sachin. Let me tell you something about Don Bradman, his son changed his name because he could not deal with that kind of pressure. He removed the surname Bradman because everyone was expecting him to be like his father,”
Kapil said, that having a surname such as great “Tendulkar” has his own set of merits and demerits but at the end of the day the only name that is going to get remembered is Arjun and then Tendulkar. All this was spoken by Kapil Dev on one of the YouTube channels, “Uncut”.
Mr. Dev said, there is no need of adding pressure on him (Arjun), and let the young cricketer enjoy his own cricket rather proving anybody else. Mr. Dev further said,
“If you can become even 50 percent like your father, there is nothing better. When the name Tendulkar comes up, our expectations rise because Sachin was such a great. We should just let him be and we should tell him to just enjoy his cricket,”
Another individual, who spoke about Arjun was his own father, Sachin Tendulkar, who stated that the path for Arjun is going to be challenging and needs to work hard.
So far Arjun has taken two wickets from 2 T20 matches, one against Haryana, and the second against Puducherry.
In a latest, the MI bowling coach, Shane Bond, opened up about Arjun stating,
“Arjun Tendulkar, needs to work on his batting and fielding before finding a place on the team. Hopefully, he can make those progressions and earn a spot in the team”
