The dates of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) will be directly clashing with the Indian Premier League (IPL) in 2025. Both championship organizers, the BCCI and the PCB are reportedly making the schedule following which the tournament will take place at the same time in the upcoming year 2025.

According to a report by a leading cricket news website, “There will be a clash of dates between the IPL and PSL in 2025. It would happen only because of the blockish-packed home season of the Pak team in 2024-25.”

“In the February of 2025, the neighboring country’s team will be hosting the ICC Championship Trophy as per the International cricket monitoring authority’s schedule, which would be their first tournament hosted by the country in almost 30 years,” reported a news website.

Pakistan, which was not allowed to host bilateral cricket matches at home during three previous FTP Cycles since 2009 due to security causes, has started to organize top teams in the last three years and will continue hosting for 11 full members out of 12 (excluding India) in the ahead 2023-27 FTP Cycle.

As per the hectic FTP schedule for 2023-27 of ICC, Pakistan will have to host 27 Tests-13 at home as a part of ICC World Test Championship cycles, 47 ODI-26 at home, and 56 T20-27 at home. This blockish schedule is likely to have a big chance of a direct clash with the BCCI’s home season dates. It means there will be a clash of dates between PSL and IPL in 2025.

The news website quoted PCB’s CEO Faisal Hasnain saying, “While finalizing our FTP 2023-27 cycles in a tight and heavy-packed cricket calendar, we have given priority to context, quality, and player workload.”

The ICC announced on Wednesday a total of 777 international matches- 173 Tests, 281 ODIs, and 323 T20Is for their 12 full-member teams in the 2023-2027 FTP cycle compared to the 694 in the current.

Earlier, a day ago, the ICC revealed the first-ever Women’s Future Tours Program (WFTP) for the next three years August 2022 to January 2025. There will be 10 teams including India women and the Blue Jersey women will be playing 2 Tests, 24ODIs and 36vT20Is

There is no direct series or match between India and Pakistan in the above four years FTP 2023-27 cycles as per the detailed schedule.
