Have set myself an 18-month target to play for Sr. India: Yash Dhull, Under-19 World Champion

Yash Dhull, the talented player of the Under 19 team, has not been able to sleep properly due to his busy schedule and matches. In the last 48 hours, the player has made so many flights that his count is also over.

Once after returning from the under 19 world-cup winning series the entire team was felicitated at the Ahmedabad airport. The journey from the Caribbean was quite exhausting as there were four flights in order to reach India. During a two-month stint, Dhull finally met his parents; which was only a 30-minute get together for the captain who just returned back from his fantastic performance at the under 19 World Cup-win against the Caribbean’s. After arriving in Delhi early morning the cricket straight went to Bal-Bhavan, to his parent institution in West Delhi, meeting people who played a major role in the cricketers success.

Just after Two hours, he took flight towards his next destination at Guwahati, where the player will be making his first debut with Ranji which is next week. So while taking trip to school, he went back to airport, getting enough time to take a shower at home.

Despite having tough times the player has no complaints and is very excited to play for the team with hard work and set a target of 18 months for himself to play for his team. Dhulll played for India like a champ and showed in the Caribbean that he can play the highest level of cricket. After Unmukt Chand and Virat Kohli the 19-year-old Dhull is the third Delhi captain chosen to do exploit in the Under-19 World Cup against West Indies.

He is inspired by Kohli and his achievements, but also the story of Chand, who succumbed to the pressure of the expectations, set by his performance in the 2012 edition. When asked about being under pressure after a successful tour in the Caribbean, Dhull said that he is not thinking on lines and doesn’t want to think too much about the future, staying humble. Kohli is his biggest inspiration for the youngster.

The young, energetic captain impressed many with his range of power plays, pace and strike rotation in the Caribbean, and he also overcame the ongoing COVID-19 to let his team finish the line.

Yash Dhull recently played and led a U19 squad in the ICC U19 Cricket World Cup of 2022.Yash’s family took many hard decision in life to ensure their child future and development making countless sacrifices. Yash’s father opened up about the company that he worked with but decided not to disclose the brands name. He was associated with a brand (cosmetic) and eventually left it aside all to support his child’s cricket career. If we see the history of many great players you’ll find Dhull’s story similar and inspirational.
