After a long absence, Shikhar Dhawan is ready to take the field again. It is a good thing that Shikhar Dhawan’s personal life has been in turmoil in recent times and he has recovered from it. So again, on the cricket field, we will see Shikhar Dhawan performing vigorously.

Shikhar Dhawan has joined the team in the South Africa series. The Indian team had to face defeat in the first match against South Africa and now it is in danger of losing the series. Apart from Shikhar Dhawan and Virat Kohli, no batsman could play a big inning from Team India.

India’s opening batsman Shikhar Dhawan felt that the Indian team lost the match against South Africa on Wednesday due to a lack of big partnership in the innings.

The first ODI between the two teams was played at Boland Park, where the Indian team lost the match by 31 runs.

South Africa team scored 296 runs for the loss of four wickets. A double century from Raisey Van der Dussen (129 not out) and captain Temba Bavuma (110) gave the team a boost, with the Indian team failing to chase down the target.

The team’s opener KL Rahul got out after scoring just 12 runs. At the same time, the number two batsman Dhawan scored 79 and former captain Virat Kohli scored 51 runs, in which it was expected that both the batsmen would play a big partnership, but it did not happen.

Both the batsmen got out after scoring their half-centuries. At the same time, Shardul Thakur also scored fifty runs while playing an unbeaten half-century.

Dhawan said during the press conference that he thinks both the South African batsmen batted very well. At the same time, when a set batsman gets out on this wicket, it is not easy for the new batsman to score runs quickly at the crease.

It’s not the right wicket to bat on, bowlers get an advantage in that, but I think the team batted really well but none of the batsmen scored a century or played a big partnership.

Talking further about what was lacking in India’s batting, Dhawan referred to the fall of wickets. He said “We had a good start and I think the wicket was slow here, it was giving a little turn also. So, when you are chasing 300, it is not easy for the middle-order batsman to play shots and the batsman starts hitting the ball as soon as it comes”.
