Five Ways to Improve as a Cricket Player: No matter how high standard the game is, the player has to learn how to perform better every time. Cricket is a game where you can’t predict what will happen at any given moment and how bad the game will be. There is a lot to do before the match. The outdoor sport has to face natural challenges like rain, and wind. In the past, many situations have arisen where the competition has been canceled as nature did not support it.

Many newcomers are now struggling to try their luck in cricket. Some players have been forced out of cricket due to poor performance. So it is clear from this, that consistency along with hard work is also very important which is the only way for the players to survive in cricket.

Now it takes hard work and practice to maintain this continuity. Every player strives to improve his game day by day and perform well on the field. In this article, we will look at what other things besides practice and fitness can improve the performance of cricket players.

1. Practice

Practice is not just a word it is an action performed on daily basis by the sportsperson. Practicing with the right mindset and a positive attitude leads to success. The player has to focus on the reason why he or she is practicing for? Practicing without a goal can create a mess. Cricket player has to set a goal like-

“I want to score a century in the upcoming match”.

“I am aiming to gain five wickets in the session”.

In this way, if the cricketer does the practice, it may create a good habit of practicing with clarity that improves the game.

2. Self-motivation

A cricket player can watch his/her previous matches where they gave their best and performed superbly. It motivates a person that he/she can do anything that came across to their ways whether it is a difficult or easy situation.

3. Find out your weakness

Find out your weaknesses while practicing. Discuss with your coach and experienced colleagues to work on it. It is not a big deal to admit your weakness in the game. Here, we can take the example of Kohli. He worked hard to enter into the field of cricket like any other cricketer. But he improved his game after his poor performance against England in 2014. He admitted that yes, there was some technical issue that he was dealing with while batting. He focused, he practiced and he banged on again to the original form.

4. Sharpen your strength

Every cricketer knows his potential. It should be practiced where and how to use it. The rules of bowling and batting and the methods of playing are very different. The level of competition and the teams that play along with it needs to be practiced and the game will get better if you identify and improve your strengths before learning new things.

5. Constant involvement in the game

Whether it’s sports or any other activity, you need to be consistent in it. If you think seriously about the game with cricket, you will find that often the money and fame in a short period distracts the players. A good performance does not mean that everything is achieved. To make the career of the game better, one has to constantly participate in it with full devotion. Deviating from your goal can never be a win-win situation. So it is very important to have 100% involvement.

6. Self-belief

Sometimes there is a time in a cricketer’s life when he feels like he has lost confidence due to constant failure. It is just a phase that goes by time. In this situation, you can discuss your career graph with your trusted partner or with any near one. Players like Ricky Ponting, Brian Lara, and Sachin Tendulkar all were having a great and phenomenon self-belief. As a sports person, you should have the sportsman spirit and a self-belief that you can do the best.
