Five fantastic left arm orthodox bowlers: Bowling is just as important in cricket as batting. Cricket is a game where you have to score the most runs to beat the opposing team, but you have to keep in mind that you can win the game by taking the wicket of the opposing team. Falling often depends on the bowler and his style of throwing and catching the ball. There are many technical types of bawling.

Left-arm orthodox refers to the style of bawling in cricket by spinning the ball anticlockwise. The bawler who turns the ball from right to left is also known as a left-arm orthodox spin bowler.

 1. Rangana Herath

Rangana Herath is an international former cricketer from Sri Lanka. He represented the Sri Lankan cricket team in all the formats of cricket and was captained by the team too. Herath is considered one of the pre-eminent and finest left-arm orthodox bowlers. He created a record of being the best-left arm spinner in test cricket with 433 wickets that his greatest achievement after Muthaiya Muralidharan.

2. Daniel Vettori

Daniel Vettori is a former cricket player and captain of the team from New Zealand. He was the most powerful player considered as the all-time all-rounder. His bowling style was left-arm orthodox. With his bowling style, he became the highest wicket-taker for New Zealand in ODI’s. As per the statistics, Daniel has taken 297 wickets from 291 ODI matches in his cricket career.

3. Ravindra Jadeja

Ravindra Jadeja is holding the number one place in the current Indian cricket team as a slow left-arm Orthodox spinner in test rankings. He is also a part of IPL representing Chennai Super Kings. The left-arm spinner Jadeja is also the number one all-rounder in the Indian cricket team. 

4. Derek Underwood

Derek Underwood is a former English international cricket player who represents the country in a different old era. Underwood was regarded as a slow left-arm orthodox spin bowler. He was the only phenomenal bowler in his era. In 1971, Underwood took 100 wickets in a test match and 1000 first class wickets at the age of 25. As per the ICC rankings, the Underwood was ranked on the number position in the whole world as the best bowler from 1969 to 1973 as he gained a 12-wicket haul against New Zealand in 1971.

5. Bishan Singh Bedi

Bishan Singh Bedi is a legendary and former cricket player in the Indian team who was popular for his left-hand orthodox bowling. He was also known for his strong opinion about cricket. He took a total of 266 wickets in 67 test matches.  Rather than these five, the cricket is blessed with tremendously impressive left-arm orthodox bowlers such as Salim Durani, Rajinder Goel Padmakar Shivalkar, Dilip Joshi, Karsan Ghavri, Ravi Shastri, Maninder Singh, Venkata Pathy Raju, Sunil Joshi, Kartik Murali, Ashish Nehra, Zaheer Khan, and Irfan Pathan were represented the respective teams as a left-arm spin bowler and had crafted their cricket career for a long.
