In a latest update, Deepak Chahar has been ruled out of the T20 World Cup, 2022, due to recently emerged back pain, which also caused him to be ruled out of the ODI series against South Africa.

Now while it has been understood that he’s not part of the world cup team, the BCCI have confirmed three names. This is not an official release from BCCI and was revealed based on anonymity to press trust of India,

“Deepak will take some time to get fit. His back issue has flared up again. His ankle is fine and there wasn’t any problem there. So BCCI is sending three reinforcements. Mohammed Shami, Mohammed Siraj and Shardul Thakur,”

Reason behind naming these three?

Mohammed Shami – Experience, ability to swing both sides added with variations

Mohammed Siraj – Due to his quick emergence as the best bowler in the ODI series against South Africa. He was also named to be the player of the series.

Shardul Thakur – Because of his ability to bat and Ball in pressure conditions, which was quite evident during his venture against the proteas in the ODI series.

But please be noted, that any of the three players can be the replacement for the ruled out Jasprit Bumrah and have to go through tough fitness challenges kept by the Indian coach and the selection team.
