The Delhi Capitals team is going to play against the Kolkata Knight Riders in their 41st league match of the tournament, but this time in a new “Jersey”. The new jersey that has showcased is in Sky blue colours with colourful blue, violet, red, orange, yellow strips on the belly side.
The match will be taking place at the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai. But before even the match has begun, Pant has received a major reaction from someone who is a former player of Indian cricket team and an active user member of social media. He is none other than “Virender Sehwag”.
Mr. Sehwag, is known for his off-field – On-field sharpness and when he used to play, he was as brutal as he is today on social media. The former player of the Delhi Capitals team, Virender Sehwag has time and again posted his valuable comments on teams’ improvement only and looking at the pathetic condition of the DC team, has suggested Rishabh to learn from MS Dhoni if he considers him his fan. He also added the Pant being a fantastic player and has the ability to make 20-25 runs in the final over but to do so again and again, he needs to remain on the crease till the end.
“Rishabh Pant will be the key for DC. Even if the openers fire, it is still important for him to score runs in the middle. If he is an MS Dhoni fan, he should learn from him. Pant has the ability to score 20-25 runs in the final over, but for that, he has to be at the crease until the last over.”
The burden and pressure for the cricketer is so bad that the same cricketer who use to blast in favour of his team in its crucial overs is now even struggling to score a half century in the current IPL.
Pant has so far scored 188 runs out of all the 8 matches he has played and has a terrific strike rate of 154.10 which very good for a player in his age. Virender Sehwag, even said that if the skipper needs consistency in his team and winning order then he needs to make big runs or in other words has to play his captaincy cricket.
The overall Delhi Capitals team is actually going through a rough patch since the beginning of the season where sometimes non-availability of foreign players are becoming an issue or sometimes, the COVID-19 infected team management or sometimes controversial on-field behaviour by Rishabh himself, along with team analyst, trio of assistant coaches named Pravin Amre, Ajit Agarkar, Shane Watson along with other team players.
Luckily, recently the COVID-affected players Mitchell Marsh & Tim Siefert returned negative to training which indeed was a good sign for the team.
But, in toto, all is not good with the DC team and the frustration can be seen clear on the faces of the entire team management of not being able to deliver. Aggression is ok but the passage to that aggression is not finding its way to come out which very likely is through only winning and winning. It is not us who is speaking about aggression but the head coach Ricky Ponting himself during an interview said,
“It’s nice to be back outside again. Frustrating (not to travel with the team). I broke 3-4 remote controls.3 or 4 bottles of water might have got thrown into the wall,”
Today the DC team is going to face the 𝗞𝗼𝗿𝗯𝗼 𝗟𝗼𝗿𝗯𝗼 𝗝𝗲𝗲𝘁𝗯𝗼 team, the KKR who equally is languishing on 8th place in the IPL points table with DC on 7th.
