For all cricket enthusiasts, especially women, there’s good news!!  The Indian women’s Cricket team has entered the semi-finals in the Commonwealth games and are just behind the Australians with 4 points.

So how did they do that?

Speaking of the recently won Indian Vs. Barbados match, India smashed the Barbados team by straight 100 runs and took the lead directly into the semi-finals. Coming to bat first, the Indian team in their set of 20 overs scored 162 runs for the loss of 4 wickets. In doing so, the efforts of the star batter Jemimah Rodrigues (56* off 46), Shafali Varma’s (43 off 26) and Deepti Sharma (34* off 28) can be credited the most.

However, in the second innings while coming out to bat and to chase the 162-run target, the optimism of the Barbados team ran down when in the initial few overs itself they started losing wickets that too at a faster rate. The Barbados team ended making 62 runs with the loss of 8 wickets from the set of 20 overs they had and lost bitterly against Indians.

However, the wickets of Barbadosian players didn’t fall automatically, well it took the efforts made by the very known star of the women’s cricket team, Renuka Singh, who single handedly took 4 wickets and became the star performer of the game once again.

For all your information, with total 9 wickets, Renuka Singh is the top wicket taker in theongoing Commonwealth games.

Coincidentally, the Barbados team before colliding with India, faced a similar kind of destiny with the top Australians Women team, how? By scoring 64 runs with the loss of all wickets and letting Australia team win by 9 wickets.

So, from Group A set of Teams, Australia is leading by 6 points whereas Indian being just behind are by 4 points.

Well speaking of Group B, it’s the New Zealand team topping the charts with 4 points while England with same 4 points are seating right beside each other
