The 42-year-old former cricketer, Shahid Afridi, recently lashed out at Babar Azam for his limited thinking and to come out of it. What happened, we’ll tell you.

In one of the T20 matches against Bangladesh, Babar as his part of strategy was heard saying that he focused on setting a target of 160 runs against Bangladesh, and that is what stirred the issue amongst veterans like Afridi.

Afridi’s criticism, feels completely justified and he suggested Babar to come out if such attitude saying,

“Babar must come out of this average mindset and think big. If scoring 160 runs for the target against Bangladesh was his big intent, then what is he going to do against stronger teams,”

Afridi also advised the other top batter Mohammed Rizwan to disregard any unwanted suggestions and play the way he does. He further added,

“The actual thing is the beginning. Babar and Rizwan should score the chunk of runs [for other batters]. Rizwan shouldn’t listen to anyone,”

On the other hand, another former cricketer from England, Nasser Hussain, criticized not only Pakistan’s but also India’s batting line up saying,

“At the start of T20 cricket, everyone talked about how there is no need to worry about number 7, they’ll probably get like seven balls to face, so might as well play the extra bowler. But actually, if you have a solid number 7, then it means that your top six can absolutely go for it.

That has been an issue for India, they don’t have enough all-rounders and Pakistan as well. Babar and Rizwan are so worried about the depth of their batting, so 20 overs become a very long time,”

Guys we need to note one thing, the T20 World Cup is on hand, starting from October 16th. There will be many dos and don’ts given to the one or the other team. But what the team needs to do is to focus on what their real shortcomings are and strengthen those areas.

Things resolved!!
