This year in cricket, two major events are going to take place i.e., Asia Cup and the T20 world Cup in the month of August and October respectively. But here in this article, we’ll primarily be focusing on the Asia Cup winning history and how many Asia cup India has won in history. So, without further ado, let’s get started.

The inception of Asia Cup took place in 1984 for the first time and since then, despite many challenges (border Tensions) the continental tournament has continued and has gained tremendous momentum through years.

From 2015 onwards, a decision was made that ODI and T20I tournaments to be conducted on a rotation basis and as a result the move was taken into action from 2016 when the first ever T20 tournament was played during the Asia cup.

Now the most interesting question comes. Who won the Asia cup the most times?

And the answer to the question, comes with India. Team India has won the maximum number of Asia cup tournament i.e., 7 times, followed by Sri Lanka, 5 times and Pakistan 2 times.

The winning chances for India and perhaps for Pakistan could have been better if the rift between the two nations, India and Pakistan, would have not strained in the years 1991 and 1993. Both nations boycotted in the following year.

This year once again the Asia Cup is about to be conducted and which was primarily scheduled for the island nation Sri Lanka, but because ofpolitical and economic crisis, the tournament was taken to United Arab Emirates, where all six team in the form of India, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Afghanistan and the sixth nation will be decided after the team out of UAE, Hong Kong, Singapore and Kuwait team will win the qualifiers match. The commencement date of Asia Cup is from August 27th and will last till September 11th.f
