James Anderson may have a favorite ground outside England, but he is not ready to take things lightly especially at the Adelaide Oval. Last time James Anderson created havoc with the pink ball and took five wickets in an innings.

Anderson said he has watched most of the pink ball Tests played in Adelaide and is concerned about the fast behavior of the ground. The 39-year-old fast bowler said, ‘I achieved success last time. But of course, it is a bit faster. Anderson further said, ‘It was not told whether the ball would swing more or pick up the pace or something different. It’s typically a good quality pitch here, and when the pitch looks fine, if the sun comes out, then the bowlers will not be helped. There will come a time during the match when the ball will help a little more. Every effort will be made to take advantage of that time.

Anderson will play a Test match for the fifth time at the Adelaide Oval. He shared his memories from here. Anderson said, ‘This is probably more than a good time we have lost. But I believe it is my favorite ground outside the UK. I’ve had both good and bad times here. But I have enjoyed every match here.

He further said, ‘We hope to perform well and play more matches than bad. This is wonderful ground. There is history here, and we love to play here. The field has changed compared to the first time I played here, but the way he has changed the field, is incredible. The atmosphere here is wonderful and people in Adelaide love cricket.”

James Anderson considers the Pink Kookaburra’s curiosities as he prepares to return to the England XI for the second Test in Adelaide. There are so many and varied mysteries from the pink ball in Test cricket, with the game’s most successful fast bowler admitting that it has waked him up at nighttime and again.

Anderson, who was dropped for the first Test, said it was a “nice surprise” that Australia had nothing but good words for him in Brisbane, but hoped to return to the field in Adelaide. After that, it will change.

In his own words, he said “Yeah, that was a nice surprise I guess, to see those saying nice things, but I’m sure they’re not going to be saying nice things to me this week,” he said. “The last couple of years I’ve been managed a bit more, missing the odd game to try to stay fresh, especially in a long series like this one. That’s something I’ve got used to over the last few years, but I’m just focused on my bowling, and fitness is as good as they can be, so if the captain wants me, I’ll be ready.”

He actually wanted to say that though it was a surprise to see the Australian team talking nice about him which of course is sportsmanship, things may change once returns to the field.
