5 Indian Cricketers Who Hold An Engineering Degree: Education is an important and necessary part of human life. Education makes a person educated with the knowledge of different subjects. Despite this fact, there are sectors like sports and entertainment that do not need any degree. But if someone is having an educational background then it’s a value-added in their talent.   

To succeed in sports, it is necessary to practice the game faithfully. If you want to work in the field of entertainment, you need to study accordingly. Many players in the Indian cricket team could not complete their education up to degree level due to lack of proper educational opportunities or any, still, they are successful today.

As the fact is most of the engineers change their profession after completing B.E. due to the unavailability of suitable jobs.

Ashwin has completed his engineering education in Information Technology from SSN College of Engineering, Chennai.

2. Srinivasaraghavan Venkataraghavan

Srinivasaraghavan Venkataraghavan is a former cricket player who had shown his glimpse of brilliancy on the ground in 1965. He represented India in cricket from 1965 to 1983. Srinivasaraghavan is a qualified cricket player holding a degree in engineering. He completed his engineering at the College of Engineering, Guindy in Chennai. After retirement from cricket, he had been placed in the administrative department and then was become a member of ICC’s panel of umpires.

3. Erapalli Anantharao Srinivas Prasanna

EAS Prasanna is a former Indian international cricket player who played for India from 1962 to 1978. EAS Prasanna had played in few tests during 1061-1962. After this, he decided to complete his education and took a break from cricket. After receiving an engineering degree from the National Institute of Engineering, Mysore, he again switched back to cricket. Notably, he returned to cricket in 1967.

Javagal Srinath is a former Indian international cricket player who served India from 1991 to 2003. Javagal is considered one of the fastest and most successful pacers in cricket. Javagal is s degree holder. He has completed his Bachelor of Engineering in Instrumentation from Sri Jayachamarajendra College of Engineering, Mysore. It was easy for him to club education with cricket.

Anil Kumabale is a legendary cricketer and spinner in the Indian Cricket team. He had represented India from 1990-2008. Anil is one of the highest wicket-takers on the Indian cricket team. His outstanding performances in tests and ODI’s are always remembered by the cricket fans. While the following cricket as a passion, Amil Kumble has completed his education. He has a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He completed his BE from Rashtriya Vidhyalaya College of Engineering, Banglore in 1992.
